Course Overview

The purpose of this class is to explore biblical teaching on our responsibility to care for God's creation. As human beings created in God's image, our original mandate was to rule the earth as God's representatives, but sin has corrupted our practice of dominion and our relationship with the natural world. This area of brokenness, like all other results of sin, will ultimately be restored to wholeness and harmony through the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we are transformed by the power of this gospel, we should exhibit Christ's redemptive work as stewards of creation. Accordingly, we will consider ways in which faithful stewardship can be applied to many of the pressing environmental concerns facing our society.
